Movement
&
Mindfulness
Restore Yoga & Wellness is dedicated to promoting mindfulness through movement in a unique way that combines the tranquility of yoga with the exhilaration of outdoor adventures. This space is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all individuals seeking healing, growth, and happiness through the practice of yoga and wellness activities.
Restore's philosophy embodies my deepest belief; healing can often be found in nature, which is why I emphasize the importance of taking our practice outdoors. By creating a nurturing environment that encourages personal development, participants often feel empowered, ready to strengthen both their bodies and minds, while ultimately improving their well-being and cultivating joy.
Mission
Restore Yoga & Wellness appreciates the gifts that nature offers; peacefulness, calmness, and sometimes challenges. This business strongly believes that nature can heal, and it’s been the goal to make the benefits of nature accessible to everyone. Restore Yoga & Wellness is the only nature-focused healing operator within 190 km of Sault Ste Marie, and the only SUP Yoga facilitator within the Algoma District. The primary goal is to offer a getaway to promote healing and recovery through outdoor recreation, holistic methods, and creativity. All events and tours are customizable to make sure the guests are receiving the support they need. This business is committed to high quality experiences, supporting the local community, and minimizing impacts on the environment.
Vision
The vision at Restore Yoga & Wellness is to create a sanctuary for individuals to find inner peace, and reconnect with nature. I envision a future where Restore offers retreats with a bed and breakfast while providing a safe and nurturing space for people to escape the stresses of everyday life and focus on their well-being. I strive to expand Restore's reach to more northern communities, making our nature-focused healing experiences accessible to all who seek them, as well as contributing to an increase to Sault Ste Marie tourism. Through these endeavors, I aim to inspire others to appreciate and protect the natural world, fostering harmony between mind, body, and environment.
Values
At Restore Yoga & Wellness, there is significant value the power of nature, community support, and environmental sustainability. I believe in creating high quality, customizable experiences that promote healing, inner peace, and personal growth. Restore Yoga & Wellness is commitment to supporting local communities and minimizing environmental impacts. Restore strives to inspire others to connect with nature and protect the environment, while prioritizing their own well-being.

Meet Raquel Gonzalez
Raquel is a passionate individual who founded Restore Yoga & Wellness in 2023 with a commitment to focus in outdoor adventure and education, while embracing personal wellness. This business was naturally created through a need to follow her passions. Raquel didn't plan to build this business while still in school, however it unfolded beautifully while she reminded herself that everything happens for a reason - it sure did because here we are now.
Raquel has several credentials to back up her mission. She is a Sault College graduate who achieved two diplomas with distinction; Adventure Recreation and Parks Technician, as well as Natural Environmental Technician - Conservation and Management. She strives to learn as much about the natural world as she can. Prior to a shift into Conservation and Management, she studied Social Service Work, and worked as a Direct Support Professional for adults with developmental disabilities. Here she started seeing the benefits of outdoor recreation in a diverse population, as well as through her own lived experiences.
She is certified in flatwater canoeing, kayaking skills, has several stand-up paddle boarding certifications including her instructors. Raquel shows commitment to safety with her Wilderness Advanced First Aid certification, and Standard First Aid Level C training. She is also a 200 hour registered yoga teacher with over 2 years of teaching experience and 6 years with her own personal practice. She carries a deep understanding of yoga principles and practices, and she is ready to intertwine mindfulness practices into an assortment of outdoor adventures.
